Instrument Mapping

The Instrument mapping file shows all instrument maps for the entire project irrespective of the original mapping file imported.

The Instrument Map is split into two sections which allows general mapping to be applied for every instrument with minimum input from the user.

These are:

• Instruments - Instruments hold the instrument code which details the function of the instrument such as CV for control valve. It also stores the function of the instrument and whether it is a safeguard or detects high or low for use within Process Safety analysis
• Measured Variable - The measured variable store the instruments process parameter such as Pressure, Temperature etc which will cause the instrument to act.

To edit either the Instrument or Measured variable select the desired location from the tree.

Selecting the Instrument will allow you to Add/Edit Instruments

Selecting Measured Variable will allow you to Add/Edit Measured Variable
