Navigating the Project Tree

The Project Tree allows you to browse through all imported documents and the mapping and configuration data which allows you to convert your plant into a suitable model to run both P&ID Integrity rules and Safety Integrity analysis. It is visible upon Creating a New Project

The Project tree is a configurable project browser that can either mimic your hierarchy or store your data in a free form hierarchy.

The navigable items within the tree are

  • ProjectRoot - Project Root - The Root of the Project Tree. Allows you to access Global Project options
  • DrawingGroup - Drawing Group - A Placeholder to store a number of drawings. Can be nested below each other and allows you to edit multiple Drawings or Configurations at once. A Drawing Group can be either an area or unit which has been imported from SPPID.
  • Drawing - Drawing - The representation of a P&ID within the Hazid Integrity Project. Can store multiple configurations and stores the Instrumentation data for the P&ID
  • Configuration - Configuration - Stores the model mapping and the process model of the P&ID. All safety analysis and P&ID rules are run on configurations.
  • Studies - Studies - Stores the Safety Integrity studies. Only visible with a Safety Integrity Licence
  • SafetyStudy - Safety Studies - Access the safety studies run within Safety Integrity and manage the safety meetings. Only visible with a Safety Integrity Licence

Selecting any level of the tree displays additional information on the right hand panel. The Configuration level of the tree allows some additional functions as well as displaying the information. For more information see Configuration panel.

From any level of the tree right click on the mouse will display the project options. These are visible based on your User Permissions and also Licence available.

Project Root Options​

All Project Root Options that you see when logged in is a result of Hazid Integrity User Permissions. If you do not see an option you believe you should have please speak to your Administrator.

  • Edit Project - Edit any of the Project details such as Name or Project Number.
  • Refresh - Project Refreshes the Project from the database
  • Create Drawing Group - Create a Drawing Group at a specified level beneath the Project Root
  • Open Drawing - Opens the Drawing Viewer
  • Fluids and Materials* - Displays all Fluids and Materials of Construction for each item in the plant detailing where potential incompatibilities could arise.
  • Global Fluids* - Consolidated view of all Fluids on the Project and any incomparability issues
  • Fluid Resolution* - Set how the system resolves multiple fluids in an equipment item
  • Instruments* - Displays the Associated instruments of the equipment in the Project
  • Instrumentation and Control Loops* - Displays the control loops available in the project and the instruments associated with the loops
  • OPC Connections* - Allows OPCs to connect across the plant allowing P&ID rules and Safety Analysis to cross P&ID boundaries
  • Contextualisation* - Set Equipment to be in specific operating states, such as Valve Open/ Closed Pump Running/Standby
  • Data Editor - Opens the Data Integrity module for the entire project - this can be system intensive
  • List Editor* - Stores the list of standard comments for Rule results
  • Units Editor - Opens the Unit Editor
  • Constants Editor - Opens the Constants Editor
  • Function Editor - Opens the Function Editor
  • Data Model File Manager - Opens the file moanager for the Data Model
  • Edit Action Approval Order - Opens the project action approval order definition window
  • Property Filter Editor - Opens the property filter editor for the saved property filters in data editor
  • Imports
    • Import SPPID - Import drawings from Intergraph Smart PID
    • Convert ISO 15926 XML to Hazid XML - Converts the generic ISO15926 XML schema to one which has the information in a good format for efficient import to the Hazid system
    • Import Hazid XML
      • Import From XML - Imports a converted ISO 15926 XML into Hazid Integrity
      • Import From HDX - Imports one or more HDX (Hazid Data Exchange) files, exported from another Hazid site
    • Import Instrument Maps - Imports Instrument Maps from the Model Library
    • Import Plant Backup - Imports the zip file plant backup
    • Import SPEL - Imports data and graphics from SmartPlant Electrical
    • Import SPI - Imports data and graphics from SmartPlant Instrumentation
    • Import PDS - Imports data from SmartPlant PDS
    • Import AutoCAD (DWG) - Imports data and graphics from DWG files, as well as some DGN files
    • Import Visio (vsdx w/ svg) - Imports data and graphics from Visio
    • Convert Excel to Data Intermediate - Converts an xlsx file to a data intermediate xml
    • Import Data Intermediate - Imports an xml Data Intermediate of excel data
    • Import Symbols - Imports a symbol set to a specified drawing in Integrity
    • Convert SPPID files to HDX - Converts PID files to Hazid HDX and imports them
    • Convert SmartSketch files to HDX - Converts SSK files to Hazid HDX and imports them
    • Import Navisworks (nwd) - Imports a Navisworks 3D package or packages
    • Import Word Files - Imports a Word Document to Integrity
  • Mappings
    • Project Symbol Mapping - Allows you to create or edit Project Symbol Mappings which will map all instances of a symbol
    • P&ID Symbol Mapping* - Allows you to create specific symbol mappings for single items within the P&IDs
    • Instrument Mapping* - Allows you to set up Project specific Instrument Mappings
    • Property Mapping - Set up how Hazid Integrity deals with properties imported from the P&ID
  • Reports
    • Report Version Viewer - Allows you to browse old versions of reports
    • SPPID Reports* - Shows the list of Project level SPPID Reports
    • SPEL Reports - Shows the list of Project level SPEL Reports (only appears when SPEL data has been imported)
    • SPI Reports - Shows the list of Project level SPI Reports (only appears when SPI data has been imported)
    • Save All Reports - Saves the current version of all Reports. These reports are then avaiable in Report Version Viewer
    • Export All Reports* - Allows the user to export all reports to Excel, PDF or Word
    • Rule Analysis Report - Allows the user to export rule analysis reports to excel
  • Updates
    • Update Project Icon Mapping - Allows you to Clear or update the Project Icon Mapping as well as run the mapping on all items in the project
    • Update Drawing Symbols - Runs the Update Drawing Symbols Routine
    • Update Property Conversions - Runs the routine that updates property unit conversions
    • Update SPPID files in project database - Runs the SPPID file location updater
    • Update Source Connection Attributes - Allows the user to update the SPPID source connection data - used when SPPID is migrated to a different database
    • Update Drawing Item Equipment - Updates the "Equipment" attribute of all drawing items
    • Update Model Versions - Updates all models to the current version in the associated library
  • Exports
    • Export all Drawings as Intermediate - Exports all drawings in the current project to the specified location as ISO 15926 intermediate xmls
    • Push Linked Data to SPPID - Opens the linked data push via script dialog
    • Writeback all external data - Allows all external data to be written back via the External Writeback Options
    • Export all Drawings as Graphviz - Exports all drawings in the current project to a specified location as Graphs of their connections in the graph viz format
    • Export SPPID drawings to HDX - Exports all SPPID drawings in the current project to a specified location as hazid data exchange (HDX) files
  • Automation
    • Run Model Configuration - Opens the Model Configuration Rule runner
    • Run Aurelia Batch Operations - Opens the Batch Operation Processing window
    • Link SPPID OPCs - Opens the SPPID OPC linking window
    • Change SPPID Piping Symbol - Opens the SPPID piping symbol change window
    • Run multi batch operations - Opens the mulit batch operation window.
  • Dashboard
    • Generate Dashboard Statistics - Allows the user to generate the statistics used in the dashboard, either regenerating all of them, or updating only the changes.
    • SPPID/SPI/SPEL Dashboard - Allows the user to access the Dashboard. Different options will appear depending on whether SPPID, SPI or SPEL data has been imported to the project.
  • Run Equations- Runs the equations on all items in the project
  • Update- Generated Values Opens the Generated Value Maintenance Window
  • Move Items
    • Move Drawings - Opens the Move Drawings window
    • Move Drawing Groups - Opens the Move Drawing Groups window
  • Manage Locks - Opens the Document Lock Managment
  • Rescue Locks - Unlocks all drawings that are locked by the user, but not open in any application
  • Drawing Access Permissions - Opens the Drawing Access Permissions
  • View History - Enables the User to view the project history log
  • Engineering Integrity - Holds the options for the Engineering Integrity Module
  • Safety Integrity - Holds the options for the Safety Integrity Module

*These options only appear once SPPID data has been imported.
