Add Cause
Causes are issues which may create an abnormal deviation within the Process this deviation is then propagated throughout the Plant till it reaches an eventual consequence.
Within the Hazid Integrity Knowledge Model Causes are associated with Ports.
To Add a Cause enter the information
- Port - The Port that the Cause is associated with. You can select another Port using the Dropdown list.
- Deviation - The Deviation that the Cause will generate for propagation through the model
- Comment - You can add a comment to the Model
You can then add the cause descriptor. The Cause descriptor is the reported item that will be used in the risk assessments. You can add any text you like for the Cause descriptor.
Selecting 
allows you to select a Cause descriptor as set up in the List Editor

to Add a Property from the Property tree to the Cause Descriptor.
Hazid Integrity will use the attribute if it is available within the Project to include this in the Cause descriptor during the Safety Analysis. You can add an attribute by text if you know the attribute name by typing the attribute name surrounded with [ ]
Ports can be active 
or inactive 
on different states. Select the states you wish the Port to be available to.
