Creating InPath Rules

In Path Rules allow you to search between two items in the Rule. These are created the same way as Creating Rule Items with added options in the constraint. An In Path Rule Item is created at the bottom of the two Items that you wish to search between.

The example below shows an InPath searching between Items 2 and 3 of the rule

When In Path is created additional search items appear in the constraint section of the rule item details.

  • Mandatory - The Item Must be found in the search path between the two Items. You cannot add any further constraints to Mandatory Items
  • Optional - The Item May be found in the search path between the two items. The rule will pass if the item does not exist but if the item is present, it must pass the constraint
  • Prohibited - The Item Must Not be found between the two Items. You cannot add any further constraints to Prohibited Items
