Model Library

The Model Creation suite is the central seed repository for all reference data used within the Hazid Projects. The corporate level mapping and rule structures are stored and created within the Model Creation Suite along with any Hazid Knowledge model required. For more Information see Model Creation

Hazid Model Creation is an integrated engineering model creation system for use with the Hazid Integrity system. It has been designed specifically to allow you to add your engineering knowledge easily and in a manner in which an engineer can do and understand. . It allows you to electronically create engineering models, to accurately reflect the response of items of equipment to process conditions that deviate from normal operation and to store Regulatory, Industry and Engineering good practice rules for fast deployment to multiple projects.

The Model Creation stores the corporate knowledge library for both the Safety Integrity and P&ID Integrity modules. All of the information is inter-usable between both modules reducing your overall set time enabling you to deliver the benefit to your project teams faster.

Many methods and functions within the Model Creation are similar to those within the other modules in Hazid Integrity reducing the overall learning curve. Navigating Model Creation is through the Framework and Model trees. For more Information see Navigating the Model Creation

To access the Model Creation select the Model Library icon. This will enable the Model options on the toolbar.

Icon - Open - Opens the selected Model Library

Icon - Model Selection - Selects the desired Model Library

Icon - Refresh - Refreshes the Model Library with the database

Icon - New - Create a New Model Library. For more Information see Creating a Model Library

All other options available within the Model Creation are accessed through right clicking at the desired level of the model tree. For more Information see Navigating the Model Tree

The Model Tree allows you to browse through all the Hazid Knowledge Models and the mapping and configuration data which you can deliver to your projects to convert your plant into a suitable plant model to run both P&ID Integrity rules and Safety Integrity analysis. It is visible upon Creating a New Model Library

The Model tree is a configurable browser that can either mimic your SmartPlant Catalouge hierarchy or store your Models in a free form hierarchy. The navigatable items within the tree are

Icon - Model Root - The Root of the Model Tree. Allows you to access Global Project options

Icon - Model Group - A Placeholder to store a number of Models. Can be nested below each other and Stores Group level information such as States

Icon - Hazid Knowledge Model - The representation of a Hazid Model. There are a number of Model items which correspond to Plant equipment and ancillary drawing items.

Selecting the Model Root will display the Model Root Options

Selecting the Model Group will display the Model Group Options

Selecting the Hazid Knowledge Model will display the Model Options

Create a New Model Library

Although one model library can store multiple plant and customer configurations sometimes it is found that multiple Model Libraries can be created to suit the needs of different Projects at different design stages or for multiple company seed file.

To create a new Model Library select New and enter the Model Library details.

  • Library Name - A Name to refer to the Model as
  • Setup File - The setup file is delivered with the Hazid Integrity Knowledge Base and stores some pre-configured system models as well as default Process Safety Deviations. Select the Browse to open an explorer window to browse to the file location of the setup.csv

Select Ok to create the model Library

Select Cancel to close the form without creating a library
