Property Access Permissions

The property Access Permissions are used to govern which properties Users/User Groups/Departments have access to view and/or write, and also which properties they can write back to the authoring tool applications.

For information on Users/User Groups/Departments, please visit the Administration section of this help

Note that the process for configuring Property Access Permissions is the same for Users, Departments and User Groups, allowing you to confer permissions to access properties in as broad-brush or granualar way as you require. The outline below is for Property Access Permissions internal to the Hazid system, for External Property Access Permissions, please refer to the External Property Acess Permissions page.

Upon selecting a User/Department/User Group, the property list is populated

Initally all properties are in "None" so the selected User/User Group/Department has no access to view or edit them (apart from the Equipment Name, which is viewable for all in order to allow access to Data Integrity)

There are two Internal Permissions Levels - "View" and "Edit" - View allows you to view the property and the data against it, edit allows you to Edit the data against the property.

To confer a permission, simply left click the property/group that you wish to add permissions to and drag it to either the "View"or Edit "Panel"

To build the permissions strucuture

The lower panel is for permissions to view Custom Templates, and are conferred in the same manner.

There are 4 buttons at the base of the Permissions panel, that have the following effects

  • Revoke All - Revokes all currently granted View and Edit Permissions
  • Revoke Edit - Revokes all currently granted Edit Permissions
  • View All - Allows used to View all Properties and Templates
  • Edit All - Allows used to Edit all Properties and Templates

In the bottom right of the window are the Save/Close options

Checking the "Autosave" checkbox will save the form continuously as you make changes, the Save button saves your work and the Close button closes the form.
